Unlike the spice, which comes from the bark, this Ceylon Cinnamon oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of Cinnamomum zeylanicum, giving a warm, sweet, spicy aroma with a clove-like depth (it is naturally rich in eugenol). Long treasured as a purifying, warming oil, it is a bold note in cosy seasonal blends and a powerful natural cleanser. It is, however, a strong oil: always use it well diluted and in small amounts.
