Iswari All-in-One Super Greens, 200 g — an organic blend of more than fifteen fruits, vegetables, algae and mushrooms, including spirulina, pea protein, maca, turmeric and reishi, with a tropical fruit flavour to make it drinkable.
What it is for
It is a convenience product, and there is no shame in that. It puts a spoonful of a lot of different plant material into a smoothie in one go. It is caffeine-free, organic, and free of additives, colours and preservatives.
What we are not going to say
This product is commonly sold on the claim that it helps fill nutritional gaps and supports immunity, gut health, energy and metabolism. None of those claims is authorised in the EU for this kind of blend, so they do not appear here. A greens powder is not a substitute for eating vegetables, and anybody who tells you a spoonful replaces a plate of them is selling rather than informing.
Please read this before buying — it contains several active botanicals
Reishi mushroom. Reishi has anticoagulant activity. If you take warfarin or another blood thinner, or you are due for surgery, speak to your doctor first.
Turmeric. Avoid or check with a doctor if you have gallstones or a bile duct obstruction, and mention it if you take anticoagulants. Cases of liver injury from concentrated turmeric supplements have been reported — rare, but real.
Maca. A brassica; raise it with your doctor if you have a thyroid or hormone-sensitive condition.
Spirulina. Anyone with phenylketonuria must avoid it — spirulina is very high in phenylalanine. People with autoimmune conditions or on immunosuppressants should check first.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take a multi-botanical blend like this without medical advice. None of this makes it a dangerous product — it makes it a product with real ingredients in it, which deserves a real ingredient list rather than a picture of a green leaf.
