ATTITUDE's Super Leaves moisturising conditioner with quinoa protein and jojoba, 240 ml. Vegan, silicone-free and EWG VERIFIED.
Jojoba is not an oil, and that is the interesting part. Almost every plant oil used in cosmetics — olive, argan, coconut, almond — is a triglyceride. Jojoba is not: it is a liquid wax ester, structurally much closer to the sebum your own scalp produces than to any cooking oil. That similarity is why it spreads so thinly and absorbs so readily without the heavy, greasy film that true oils leave, and why it is unusually stable — wax esters resist oxidation far better than triglycerides, so jojoba does not turn rancid the way a bottle of almond oil eventually will. For fine hair that goes limp under most conditioners, this makes a genuine difference.
Quinoa protein. Hydrolysed quinoa protein is used in hair care for the same reason as other hydrolysed proteins: broken into small enough fragments, it deposits on damaged sections of the cuticle and temporarily smooths them, which reduces breakage during combing and improves how the hair holds moisture. It is a surface effect and it washes out over subsequent washes. Nothing repairs hair permanently — hair above the scalp is not living tissue and cannot heal.
Who it suits. Hair that is dry but not coarse; fine or medium hair that needs moisture without weight. If your hair is thick, coarse or very damaged, the olive leaf version in the same range is the heavier option.
Silicone-free. Less immediate slip than a silicone conditioner, no build-up, and no need for a stripping shampoo to remove it. Expect one to three weeks of adjustment when switching.
Free from: silicones, parabens, PEGs, synthetic fragrance.
